Value notices for 2026 payable property taxes were mailed September 18 meaning any appeals are due by November 17!

NEWS:
In King County, property taxes rose more than 1.5% overall in 2025. Recent ballot measures, coupled with slowing value growth points to 2026 seeing a sizable increase in taxes. This, however, is inequitably distributed e.g., Seattle saw rate increases of more than 12% along with average value increases of almost 7.5%. As taxes are based on prior year values, it’s important to revisit your assessed value as of January 1, 2026—notices were sent earlier in the summer—in case there is a discrepancy.
